Program
This year's edition of the TEC ART festival argues that even during society’s race to the bottom, there is always hope to be found. With a selection of international media artists, the exhibition "The Bright Side of Dystopia" is a dramatic attempt to look beyond the utter madness of reality and share a message of hope: perhaps after total collapse, we can finally see a bright future again!
Participating artists: Mark IJzerman & Sébastien Robert, Sophia Bulgakova, Yuri Yefanov, Rustan Söderling, María Pérez - Lozao Humanes, Isabel Waller, Ramseier Köppel (cenc) & Workshop 4.0, Hicham Berrada, Lennert & Sander, Eunju Park, Dagmar Schürrer, Isabel Waller. Curation by Sanneke Huisman.

Beyond visual: aperture as earth is a presentation of works by artists/researchers who practice photography beyond the shutter of a camera or the eye of the photographer. By inviting natural encounters, such as with soil and bacteria, into the making of images. Rather than foregrounding the aesthetics of photography, they present photographic practice as a living ecosystem.
Keilecontemporary, in collaboration with The Sustainable Darkroom, presents works by British artist and researcher Hannah Fletcher (a founding member of The Sustainable Darkroom), Antwerp-based artist and researcher Steffie de Gaetano, The Hague-based artist and researcher Risk Hazekamp and Tilburg-based artist and researcher Michaela Davidova who joins in the additional role of co-curator.
The artists work together with living organisms and minerals of earth(s), emphasising the active role of matter within the photographic practice. Together they share the importance of remaining in the process. In doing so, they come closer to understanding the relationships between materials, histories, meanings and possibilities of more-than-visual photography.Opening times:

The cultural expressions made by man is man. What we eat, see or hear are the thoughts, ideas and wishes of people. All the cultural together, that is us. Man is culture. The exhibition Cult=us=Gallery Again! transforms resto-bar Cult=us into a gallery full of amazing art.
The participating artists: Don Satijn, Inge Aanstoot, Nolan Smeets, Aswin Van As, Ghislain Amar and Sethi Gueye, represent a wide palette, but together as a whole will create a beautiful melody that moves through Cult=us. The exhibition gives an overview of the diversity that exists and shows it side by side, not necessarily in one exhibition but in all exhibitions of Cult=us through the year together. The horizon that is covered in this way is enormous. The freedom that is created in this way is impressive. The walls of Cult=us, but also the floors and air, is gladly given it to our freethinkers, because context is content.

Art as an ideological filleting knife. That is the ideal of Kendell Geers, compiler of 'EVERYTHING IS TRUE - NOTHING IS PERMITTED'
A protest and celebration in one. It is a defiant celebration of the power of art to subvert our expectations, to inspire, to heal, to provoke, to confuse, to disrupt and to challenge. At the same time, it is an uncompromising protest against the glitz and glamour of an art market that reduces the value of art to mere financing.

(to the ticket shop)HARDROMANCE Gallery in the STEUR Building shows the solo exhibition INTROSPECTIVE by Marco de Waal during Rotterdam Art Week.
The first solo exhibition.
This exhibition feels like opening a diary.
Each work is a page, written in light and shadow, in shapes and lines.
It tells stories of introspection, of vulnerability and strength, of darkness and beauty. It is a celebration of what photography means to me: a tool to connect, to feel and to understand. When people see my work, I want them to feel the emotion.
In addition to the solo exhibition INTROSPECTIVE by Marco de Waal at HARDROMANCE Gallery, the STEUR Building features work by various makers. This former industrial building in the M4H area houses artists and designers at the intersection of art, design and technology.Visitors can wander through the building along a marked route, encountering installations, objects and visual experiments along the way. Johannes Langkamp and Lola Giuffré, among others, show work in their spaces.
